New web interface for AI

2 Jul, 2026

With ki.hwr-berlin.de and the new AI-Chat, a new web-based service is now available, replacing the previous HAWKI service. The new platform offers expanded features and supports more efficient work with generative artificial intelligence. The aim of this service is to enable the use of AI-powered applications within a modern environment with enhanced functionality.

We are pleased to announce that a centralized, revamped online information resource regarding generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) is now available at ki.hwr-berlin.de. From there, you can access the new AI chat directly; it serves as a modern web interface for working with AI.

You can log in to the AI chat using your HWR Berlin user account.
Instructions and usage guidelines can be found at:

The technical operation of the application is handled by the Information Technology Department. This includes, in particular, providing the platform, maintenance and updates, and ensuring technical availability.

Certificate for Staff

(Service, Technical, and Administrative Staff; Academic Staff)

Successful completion of the online training course “Strengthening AI Competence for Staff” on Moodle is a prerequisite for staff in service, technical, and administrative roles, as well as academic staff, to gain access to the AI tools available for professional use. The certificate obtained must be submitted to the Human Resources Department (or the head of the administrative unit).

Ask us

To mark the launch of the new web interface (ki.hwr-berlin.de) for using generative AI—specifically the AI chat—we are initially offering an ELZ online consultation session. There, you can get to know the new service, gain some initial experience, and ask your questions.
